El tema fue lanzado en 1981 y pertenece al álbum recopilatorio The George Benson Collection. La historia de su creación es bastante peculiar: el productor del disco necesitaba una canción más para completar el álbum, por lo que le dio a un grupo de compositores un plazo de solo cuatro días para escribirla. El resultado fue un éxito rotundo que fusiona elementos de pop, R&B y soul.
Composición y Producción
La canción fue compuesta por tres grandes músicos de la industria: Jay Graydon (quien también la produjo y tocó la guitarra), Bill Champlin (integrante de la banda Chicago) y Steve Lukather (guitarrista de la banda Toto). Los tres compositores también participaron tocando en la grabación original.
Premios y Logros
Premio Grammy: En 1983, durante la 25.ª edición de los premios, «Turn Your Love Around» ganó el galardón a la Mejor Canción de R&B.
