Origen y Producción
La canción fue escrita por Rod Temperton (exintegrante del grupo Heatwave y famoso compositor de éxitos de Michael Jackson como "Thriller"). La producción estuvo a cargo del legendario Quincy Jones. El tema se incluyó originalmente en el álbum de Patti Austin titulado Every Home Should Have One (lanzado en 1981).
El sencillo se lanzó originalmente en abril de 1982. En un principio tuvo una recepción modesta, alcanzando apenas el puesto #73 en la lista estadounidense Billboard Hot 100. Sin embargo, meses después, la canción resurgió de manera imprevista. La popular telenovela estadounidense "General Hospital" (Hospital General) comenzó a utilizarla frecuentemente como el tema de amor de uno de sus personajes principales (Luke Spencer). Gracias a esta exposición masiva, el tema fue relanzado en octubre de 1982 y se convirtió en un fenómeno, escalando hasta alcanzar el número 1 en el Billboard Hot 100 en febrero de 1983.
